Eric Gormly of The Gormly Law Firm to be Dallas PFLAG Speaker
(May 2010) Eric Gormly, Managing Member of The Gormly Law Firm, PLLC, will be the keynote speaker during the May meeting of the Dallas chapter of PFLAG. Eric's presentation, "Same-Sex Relationships: Legal Roadblocks & Finding the Detours," will provide a history of marital laws and legal challenges, as well as new inroads in marriage recognition and other relationship recognition laws in the U.S.
The highlight of Eric's presentation will be his research. In a comprehensive study of Texas statutes, Eric has identified every right, protection and benefit that the state of Texas bestows on a married couple or a parent. As a result of his analysis, "The GLBT Life Planning Roadmap" was developed. This Roadmap is an extensive collection of options and legal documents developed as an effective, legal alternative to provide you, your partner and your family the fullest slate of marital-like and parental rights possible under current law.
The Dallas PFLAG meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, at Northaven United Methodist Church, 11211 Preston Road, in Dallas. The meeting time is 7pm.
